From March 28th to April 2nd, CIFA-hosted Faiths Act Fellows Sarah Baker and Benjamin Bechtolsheim led an interfaith group of ten high school students to New Orleans for a week of service and learning. The group was comprised of Protestant, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim and Baha'i youth from high schools throughout metropolitan DC. The group put their shared religious commitments to service and activism, working on a home in the Treme neighborhood of New Orleans. Along with reconstruction work, the group also met with leaders from local faith communities, including Episcopal, Muslim, Baha'i, Jewish, Hindu and Catholic faith traditions, to learn about the work of the faith community in rebuilding New Orleans.
